What's new
Everything we've shipped and everything on the bench. The app updates itself β you always have the latest.
Filters are now two tiers: broad cuisines up top (Italian, Mexican, Mediterranean, Asian, American, Indian, Coffee, Sweet Treats, Fusion) and specific styles below (BBQ, Burgers, Pizza, Fried Chicken, Hot Dogs, Gyro, Italian Beef, Sandwiches, Subs, Diner & Breakfast, Steak, Pub, Seafood). We sorted the map into them automatically.
We added a fresh set of the country's most celebrated independent restaurants for 2026 as Staff Picks - so there's a standout waiting wherever the road takes you.
Scores now read at a glance: solid green with a gold ring is Must Go (90+), gold is Worth the Detour (80-89), green is Worth the Stop (70-79), and gray is a new find we haven't rated yet.
We took the outside-source labels off the pins and cards. They still help us find and score great spots behind the scenes; they just aren't cluttering the map anymore.
Opening the map now asks one quick question - road trip or visiting a city - and sets things up for you: your route, or the best independent spots right around you.
Order of colors/suggested stops should be: solid green w gold ring=Must Gooooo 90 and up Gold= Worth The Detour 80-90 Green= Worth The Stop=70-80 Grey=Not Yet Rated
Please have only 2 boxes (questions) pop up upon opening app/ Are you on a Road Trip Are you visiting a city
Not sure we should display ddd, one bite, etc.. Not sure the legalities
Let's do MAIN Categories across the top : Italian, Mexican, Mediterranean, Asian, American, Indian, Coffee, Sweat Treats, Fusion Then Sub Categories BBQ, Burgers, Pizza, Fried Chicken, Hot Dogs, Gyro, Italian Beef, Sandwiches, Subs, Diner & Breakfast, Steak, Pub, Please do categories and sub categories to all existing places.
Please pull the top 100 us rated places in the US off of yelp. Rate them an 80, and make them a staff pick please. https://www.yelp.com/article/top-100-us-restaurants-2026
Make a button where I can easily pop the menu
75/80 should be decent stop, 85/90 worth the detour, 95/100 MUST GO!
Rewrote the description on every rated spot so they're no longer cookie-cutter - each one now leads with what actually makes the place worth a stop (the dish it invented, the decades behind the counter, the thing regulars order) instead of the same template.
We are using basically the same description for every rest. Let;s go back into all and get more creative based on reviem, menu item, etc...
Please add all of these and select menu items https://amriyagroup.com/lyra-restaurant-a-new-greek-culinary-experience-elevates-bahrains-gastronomy-scene/
The map no longer chases your location and pulls you off a spot you're looking at. It only moves when you ask it to (search, the location button, or re-center) - so when you're on a place, you stay there.
When on a place stay in that place/area.
A place can now show more than one photo - the original we gathered plus up to 3 more. Admins add extras on the edit page, and they show as a strip on the restaurant's page.
The admin "Add a spot" button now sits at the bottom of the map so it never covers the search box or filter dropdowns.
The add a spot when on explore blocks suggested places when you are searching, please relocate and put where it will not block any drop downs or anything
Allow multiple photos of food. Keep the original Photo YOU gathered and make room for 3 additional photos.
Snap a photo of your plate right in the at-the-table survey (camera or gallery). Restaurant photos now show when you hover or tap a dot on the map, and admins can upload photos too.
The at-the-restaurant survey now holds off about 45 minutes after you arrive, and if it catches you mid-meal you can snooze it 15 or 30 minutes (or dismiss it).
Pick up to 6 food categories per spot, Subs are now their own filter (split from Sandwiches), and Gyro places are tagged by their signature dish too.
Backfilled street addresses for ~1,500 places that had a location on the map but no address.
Logged-in admins get a one-tap "Add a spot" button right on the explore map.
When logged is as admin be able to add restaurant directly in.
Also have admin be able to upload pictures
Wait 45 minutes before survey and add a "not done yet?" And have it pop add 15 or 30 minutes or leave me alone!
Have a place for photo when you hover on explore and when you open the place
Please make it where users can add a picture of their plate when reviewing.
A lot missing, If we have lat/long should generate?
Please pull all that have gyro as the suggested menu item
Split up sandwiches and subs
Let me select more than 3 please
Zooming all the way out used to show several copies of the world side by side. The map now shows just one, so you see a single USA and each pin once.
If you're at a spot on the map with RoadWorthy open, you'll get a quick optional survey - rate the service and food, say whether you got the suggested dish (and what you had if not), and give your own score. It helps other travelers; it doesn't change our ratings.
When you scroll out there shouldn't be multiple USA's. Show so only one of each could show.
Hovering or tapping a dot now shows its number rating right next to the name, and the gray "new" dots are bigger with a white outline so they stand out on phones.
Not on a road trip? Pick a distance (5-50 miles) from where you are and the list shows just the spots in that range - stack it with the food-type and score filters to find something great nearby.
The suggest form now lets you add your own rating (75, 80, 90...) so we know how much you loved it.
On the screen that shows the name and view, please show the number rating.
Also have a category "not road tripping, just visiting"?
Be able to select a radius (from where you are if not on a road trip) and select type and select one or multiple scored restaurants to view.
When we know someone is visiting a place and has app open. Have it ask a quick survey: Service Food Did you get suggested item (if there was a suggested item) if no would you add/share what you had? Our rating is ____ what is yours?
Hard to see the grey rest on cell phones
Also ask under these what they rate the place 75, 80 etc
Pulled in Fuddruckers locations and rated them worth-a-stop green, with the build-your-own burger known-for carried over from our Texas spot so every location says what to get.
Added a Gyros filter chip and tagged 600+ gyro spots so you can zero in on them fast - great for Chicagoland.
Suggesting a restaurant now lets you search for the exact place and pick it (so the address and details are right), then tell us its signature dish before you send it in.
After adding Gyro please tag all places with Gyros
When someone trying to add a suggested place, need it to search for the place, they select the proper place, add what the signature dish is and then submit
Need a GYRO button
Please pull all fuddruckers and rate, known for, and edit pull from the one we have in there in Texas. https://fuddruckers.com/
Pulled in the full Lettuce Entertain You and Boka Restaurant Group lineups - 100+ locations (Girl & The Goat, RPM, Shaw's, Momotaro, Mon Ami Gabi, Wildfire and more), all rated worth-the-detour green. Where we could confidently name them, we added a signature entree and a starter to try; the rest are easy to fill in.
Two admin quality-of-life fixes: adding a restaurant now warns you right away if it's already on the map (with a link to open it) instead of failing at save, and the edit page now has a direct score control so you can set a rating without going through the profile page.
When modifying a place put the number rating system there too
https://www.bokagrp.com/ Can you pull all Boka Places, rate them 85 and pick a popular entree, appetizer
https://www.lettuce.com/restaurants/ Can you pull all LEYE Places, rate them 85 and pick a popular entree, appetizer
Please have a restaurant that exhists already pop if in add new
Fixed the gray "new - not yet rated" dots sometimes vanishing as you zoomed in and out. They now load right away when the map opens on a zoomed-in spot, and a quick series of zooms or filter taps can no longer leave a half-loaded map - the newest view always wins.
Sometimes when zooming in/out the grey dots do not show up, need to fix.
Greek is now its own category chip on the map. We went ahead and tagged over 2,100 Greek restaurants across the country (with plenty in Chicagoland) so the filter is useful right away - gyro spots, tavernas, and the classics. Tap Greek to see just those.
When you apply a change across a brand's locations, RoadWorthy now also treats spots that share the same official website as the same place - so a location saved as 'Franklin BBQ' still gets grouped with 'Franklin Barbecue' when they point at the same site. It's careful about it: shared pages like Facebook, Yelp, Toast, and food-hall or theme-park sites (where lots of different restaurants share one web address) are ignored, and the names still have to line up, so unrelated places never get merged by accident.
Ton of greek places especially in chicagoland. Please make Greek a category. If you can add tag to all greek places.
When updating Multiple restaurants please see if website is the same, Name of place may not be exact, to identify if the same place.
You asked for Zagat, but Zagat has been a one-city, print-only guide since Chase bought it: there is no list to import. So we brought in the two best real prestige lists instead. James Beard America's Classics winners (163 pins, the beloved everyday spots across the country) and the Michelin Bib Gourmand USA set (433 pins, great food at fair prices). Both are validated green pins with their own filter chips. Also in v30: adding a restaurant now pulls its website from Google automatically, and Staff picks, scores, and signature dishes carry to every location of a brand, from the edit page, the quick actions, and new locations as they are added.
Add Zagat restaurants!
Staff picks, Score, and Dish should all be carried over to every location.
Pull in Website when adding a restaurant
The app now lives at https://roadworthy.us - short, memorable, and made for a US road-trip app. Old links keep working. Same app, same map, new address worth sharing.
Italian (8,447 spots, right after Pizza), Pub (1,853 - gastropubs, brewpubs, bar & grills, taverns), and Fusion (160) are filter chips now. And the "apply to all locations" box on the edit page carries the score along with the signature dish - new locations of a graded brand go green together, while any location that earned its own score from real drivers keeps it. The community's votes always outrank ours.
Carry over score as well with multiple locations
Add Italian as a category too pls
Think We need maybe "pub" and "fusion"
Sitting between Tacos and Sandwiches: one tap covers Chinese, Japanese, Sushi, Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, Indian, Ramen, Pho, Poke and more - 39,000+ spots that had no chip to call home.
Think we need to have Asian as a sort (next to burgers, pizza, etc) No real way to get to them without.
Every search result now shows its town and state - we filled in the missing hometown for 100,924 restaurants the national import left blank (Hattie B's included), and anything still unknown heals itself as people browse. Coffee Shops is a filter chip now, with 15,345 spots behind it. Leaving a restaurant page no longer teleports the map back home: you return to exactly where you were browsing, the list follows along, and a Re-center button appears whenever you're looking somewhere you aren't. And adding places got easier - a web search box on the Add page finds any restaurant by name, no website required.
Maybe we should put a "web search" right above url to make adding places easier? If they don't have a website build a scraping tool to grab info?
When viewing a place and you exit out leave at that same place on the map. If you are looking at places in an area you don't want it going back to where you are every time. Maybe a button you can return to where you are if you want to "Re-Center"
Think we need to add "coffee shops" as a catagory.
There are a lot of places (hattie b's as an example) that don't show town and state when searching. Please fix
Search now looks where you're looking - anchor a state or town and results come from there, not from back home. Chains and dry cleaners no longer sneak into the search dropdown (every Chick-fil-A is gone, and the four genuine non-restaurants hiding in our data are off the map - The French Laundry stays, that one's real). URL autofill pulls the phone number, city, and opening hours straight from Google, and addresses land street-first like they should. Find other locations now sweeps the whole country: Hattie B's went from 1 result to 12. A failed save can't wipe your typed form anymore - the crash behind The Chick and The Pig is fixed, and that spot is on the map in Algonquin, IL. And signature dishes: type it once, tick "apply to all locations," done.
When sorting by state and trying a search within that state it does not work.
When adding Signature Menu item on multiple locations add the items across all locations
Was trying to upload https://www.thechickandthepig.com/ And would not upload. Pulled info but said couldn't save. The option was "reload" but when you reload it whipes information out. Please add and fix the issue on adding places.
Please remove all Chick fil a's This is a chain
All 1,028 Wawa, Buc-ee's, and Wally's locations are on the map as validated green pins with the new Legendary Road Stop badge and a dedicated filter chip. Brisket sandwiches, Beaver Nuggets, and built-to-order hoagies now count as worth the detour - because they are.
Doesn't work properly. Example https://hattieb.com/ There are a bunch of locations but only pulls 19th street and chicago locations.
Came across some dry cleaners, Mr Cs as an example. Need to remove any entries that aren't restaurants except the gast stations Wallys, Bucees, and Wallys.
Not pulling the phone number and imports the address weird. Make sure address, then city.
I think we need to add all Wawa, Bucee's, and Wally's gast stations. They are special and have great food. Please add
Searching monks now finds Monk's - punctuation doesn't matter anymore, and results near you rank first instead of alphabetical strangers from other states. Restaurants surfaced by the address search get saved to the map the moment you tap them. Also in this release: every green pin got photos, hours, ratings and an AI recap; 263 permanently-closed places were swept off the map automatically; 52 new One Bite spots; nightly cloud backups confirmed and a watchdog that restarts the app if it ever stops answering.
Coverage went from 30 thousand to 248 thousand independent restaurants - we mined the complete OpenStreetMap dataset for every named non-chain restaurant, cafe and drive-in in the country. And if you browse somewhere we still missed, the app quietly searches that area once and fills it in within seconds. Tested on Three Lakes, WI: zero restaurants before, the whole town now.
Enter where you're going and every restaurant along the way sorts by how many minutes of detour it actually costs you - computed on our own routing engine covering every road in America. Cards show open-at-arrival based on your ETA. Try it: set From and To on the Explore page.
We pulled Guy Fieri's full trail: 1,536 DDD restaurants added or badged (skipping ones reported closed), all verified-green with coordinates from the source. The map's curated layer grew from 431 to 1,960 pins, and there's a new DDD filter chip. Ratings and hours fill in automatically as people browse.
What's new entries now carry a status - requested, planned, in progress, done - so you can see where every ask stands (all eight of yours: done). Hovering any map pin shows the restaurant's name. Also today: filter chips actually filter (tacos, BBQ, fried chicken all have real inventory now), and admins can quick-grade any restaurant right from its page.
Make it when you "hover" it shows the name of the restaurant.
The filters (bbq, burgers, fried chicken, etc) are not working please fix
